Live Consciously and Ecologically

HAWKS LANDING RETREAT CENTER

We welcome all our guests to Hawks Landing Retreat year round.  Guests are ask to pack accordingly, since the eco-system is fragile and we experience heavy snow, heavy rain, and winds, while mother nature prepares for spring (this usually happens in January through sometimes as late as even April). The ground is subject to being extremely muddy and the weather is unpredictable.  During these months guests are ask to respect the land and walk-in to the cabins and campsites.

Hawks Landing offers three cozy cabins for overnight rental, and primitive tent camping. Each is nestled into its surroundings to ensure privacy and two are limited in technological complexity to minimize human impact on the land. Locust Grove Lodge is a full service cabin with electric and running water, and (flush toilet) bathroom.  All cabins are furnished with table and chairs, oil lamps, hammocks, yoga blankets, dishes and linens. Each cabin has a deck, deck chairs and easy access to a nearby campfire pit. All cabins are equipped with fresh drinking water, wash water and are located near private composting toilets. Please note: All cabins require a short hike uphill. We are a walk in Facility. Please pack accordingly. Guests with limited mobility can be accommodated with advance notice. Valet service with advanced notice can be provided for a minimal fee.

Please do not bring fire wood with you it is against the law in the State of Ohio to transport fire wood.

Locust Grove Lodge  offers two bedrooms, spacious living room, eat-in kitchen, two comfortable bedrooms, and bathroom (flush toilet). Watch the birds and deer while sitting on the deck.  Available all four seasons. Call for more information.

Primitive Camping

"We stayed in this campsite before and we loved it! Your campsites and your acreage are absolutely beautiful and definitely, the kind of camping experience that we want. I can honestly say that none of us had ever used a composting toilet before our first trip out there last spring and so we had no idea of what we were in store for. It was a relief to all of the females to see that there were actual toilet seats! We try to go camping at least twice a year, 1 spring trip and 1 fall trip. We've tried many campgrounds and parks and each time we've been pretty happy, but we've continued to search for the place that really feels right....home away from home. We're really looking forward to camping there again"...Kelli P. Pickerington, Oh.
